Support for drought-stricken growers

Currently Growers in the Lockyer Valley and Granite Belt are experiencing one of the worst droughts on record. Despite some recent isolated rain, the situation remains very serious.

Lockyer Valley Growers Inc. and the Granite Belt Growers Association has identified the below charities that are providing direct support to their regions and communities:

Granite Belt Water Relief provides clean water to the residents in the outlying townships on the Granite Belt that do not have access to town water supply. By providing potable water to households, Granite Belt Water Relief allows growers to use their precious water reserves on their crops. Click here to access their Facebook page.

Rural Aid is one of the largest rural charities in Australia, providing support to farmers and rural communities in times of natural disaster as well as supporting the sustainability of the agricultural sector. Click here to access their Facebook page

GIVIT – Goods for Good Causes links those in need of help with the people with the means to help them. 100% of funds received by GIVIT during a disaster are spent on urgently needed items, and wherever possible, the items are purchased from local businesses to support the local economy.
